For many of us, sometime between our spiritual childhood and adulthood (and often many other times throughout our journey), we find ourselves facing a ‘dark night of the soul’ or a ‘wilderness experience’ where yesterday’s faith simply doesn’t work anymore. These valleys can be disorienting, overwhelming, or downright scary. The question isn’t IF we will face trials that are too big for us; it’s where we will look when it does. This matters greatly because, “the deserts of your life will either ultimately REFINE you or they will DEFINE you!” In this message, Pastor Chuck points our attention to see our Shepherd leading us through the shadows of our trials! 

We fear even the reference of the Psalm 23:4 "valley of the shadow of death." We forget that shadows require light to even be seen. Jesus has joined us in our valleys to shed light on the difficulties we face. He does this to polish us and to forge his character in us so that we will experience fullness even in lack. 

We humans have a restlessness problem. Whether wrestling with over-busyness, loneliness, or a lack of vision or purpose, many find themselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually tired...and desperately longing for any kind of hope. In this message, Pastor Chuck calls us to see Jesus standing on the field where we live, inviting us into true rest. Filled with practical ideas that can bear immediate fruit, this is a welcomed message for the over-tired and the weary.

Psalm 23 is one of the most quoted passages in the Bible, that has brought comfort and strengthen many. But do we have any idea the depth of the God who is waiting to meet us there? In this message, Pastor Chuck invites sons and daughters out of contractual Christianity that often amounts to nothing more than “treasure assurance” or “treasure insurance,” into the delight of actually knowing Jesus AS our Treasure. He also shares the powerful natural progression from receiving God’s love to courageously and contagiously releasing it which happens we understand who our Shepherd is. 

All of Creation is groaning within for the sons and daughters to be revealed. They ache, as in the pains of childbirth, waiting to see the hope we carry!
